Blooms for Mum Workshop
Celebrate Mum with a Special Flower Workshop
29th March 3pm -5pm
At Blue Hill Flora, Brynglas Farm, Pontardawe, SA84TR
Join us for a relaxed and creative workshop all about celebrating Mum. Spend time together making something beautiful, create a thoughtful gift for her, or treat yourself as a mum to a couple of hours reconnecting with nature.
You’ll pick your own flowers straight from our field and arrange them in a gorgeous upcycled jar with a floral design. Every arrangement will be completely unique, just like the blooms you’ll use! If you'd like to add a special touch, I’ll show you how to accessorize your jar with tissue paper and ribbon to make it extra gift-ready.
To make it even more special, we’ll have a little extra gift for each guest along with tea, coffee, and homemade cake for you to enjoy while you create—adding that extra touch of luxury to your day.
It’s a fun, mindful way to enjoy the beauty of the season and make memories. Spaces are limited, so book soon!
Cancellation Policy
Our workshops are non-refundable, but if you can’t make it, you’re welcome to send someone in your place. We kindly ask that you don’t come to the farm if you’re feeling unwell. If illness means you need to cancel, we’ll happily transfer your booking to the next workshop with available spaces or we will arrange to deliver a bouquet or wreath to you in lieu.
Please note, the farm is a working environment with uneven ground, so we recommend wearing sturdy footwear like trainers, boots, or wellies if it’s looking rainy.
Workshops go ahead in most weather, but we may need to postpone or cancel in extreme conditions like snow or torrential rain. Safety and comfort always come first!
Gather and Glow: Bouquet and Candle Making Day Retreat
A Day Retreat: Slow Down, Connect, and Create
Join us for a luxurious day of self-care, all about slowing down, reconnecting with nature, and embracing the joy of creating with your hands. This retreat is designed to give you space to breathe, unwind, and feel inspired.
We’ll start with a relaxed arrival between 10:00 and 10:30, giving you time to settle in, enjoy a cuppa, and chat without feeling rushed. Then we’ll ease into the day with a candle-making workshop led by Ellen, where you’ll:
- Learn about different types of wax and scents to create a candle that reflects your style.
-Discover the art of proper wick placement for an even burn and longer-lasting candle.
-Engage in a mindful, creative process as you pour and blend your candle with love and intention.
-Explore the beauty of aromatherapy and how different fragrances can uplift your mood and well-being.
After the workshop, we’ll take a short break to relax and enjoy a beautiful graze table spread filled with local produce and some homemade bakes—perfect for refuelling and soaking up the peaceful surroundings.
Next, we’ll move into the floral part of the day with Rhiannon. We’ll start with a gentle tour of the farm, taking in the sights and scents of the flowers in bloom. Back at the workshop space, Rhiannon will give a quick demo, sharing tips on the types of flowers and foliage you need to create a beautiful, balanced vase arrangement every time.
Please bring along a vase—ideally one you find tricky to use—so Rhiannon can offer tailored advice to help you feel confident arranging in it. After the demo, you’ll head back into the field to pick the flowers that catch your eye and create your own unique floral masterpiece.
We’ll wrap up the day between 4:00 and 4:30, leaving you with your handmade candle, a beautiful arrangement, and a heart full of calm, creativity, and connection.

Petals and Paint: A Floral Art Retreat

24th May 10am - 3pm
At Blue Hill Flora, Brynglas farm, Pontardawe, SA84TR
Slow down, observe, and immerse yourself in a creative retreat designed to help you reconnect with nature. This full-day experience blends the beauty of floral arranging with the art of mindful observation through painting.
The Morning: Flowers & Arranging with Rhiannon Harris of Blue Hill Flora
We’ll start the day with a gentle tour of the flower farm, soaking in the colours, scents, and textures of the season. Then, I’ll guide you through a vase arranging demo, sharing tips on how to create a balanced, natural-looking design. Please bring your own vase—ideally one you struggle to use so I can give you all the tips to get a beautiful arrangement every time—before heading into the field to cut your own flowers and create a unique arrangement to take home.
Lunch: A Seasonal Feast
After a morning of creativity, we’ll pause to enjoy a delicious graze table filled with locally sourced produce and homemade treats—a moment to relax, chat, and soak up the peaceful surroundings.
The Afternoon: Painting with Rhiannon Collins
In the afternoon, artist Rhiannon Collins will guide you through a painting session focused on observation—capturing the colour, form, and essence of your floral arrangement. Whether you’re new to painting or already have experience, this session is about slowing down, truly seeing the beauty in front of you, and translating it onto paper in your own unique way.
This is a day to step away from the busyness of life, reconnect with the natural world, and explore creativity in a relaxed and supportive space. You’ll leave with a stunning floral arrangement, your own painted interpretation of it, and a deep sense of calm and inspiration.
